Enjoy the Backstreets of Chania old town
One thing you have to do is wander the back streets of Chania Old Town. Interesting shops, historical buildings, some of the best little eating places are in these back streets.

Walk the Samaria Gorge
Bring the walking boots or have your trainers and do the hike through the Samaria Gorge. You need to be in good health as it is a long and tiring walk. Finish the day with a swim in the cool waters of the Lybian Sea.

Falassarna Beach
This Blue Flag beach is one that shouldn't be missed! Beautiful clear water, plenty of space. There is a large beach and several smaller beaches at Falassarna. Canteens & tavernas nearby. Sunbeds & umbrellas to rent.

When on the back roads of Crete, it is easy to navigate where you want to go. Just look out for the goats on the road!

Definitely watch the sunset, no matter where you are on Crete, they are beautiful. Or watch the "White Mountains" turn pink as the sun dips down in the west.

Look for the uniformed road sign which is brown with yellow lettering. Some offer wine tasting on the spot & some you need to book in advance. full moonIf you are on Crete during a full moon, it is worth watching it rise. Best to see it above the Chania harbour if you are on the west side by the Naval Museum and looking towards the mosque. The moon appears over the horizon. August & September moons seem to be the best or a blue moon!
